Three more whose bottles are on their way to the recycle bin:
2006 Louis Michel Chablis, Montmain, Premier Cru: I found this rather light and underwelming at Warren's house about a year and a half ago (dismaying, as I owned it too), but it's putting its fruit out now and is at least entirely passable for the $15 or so we paid for them. What keeps me from being very excited is some mild oxidative notes--we'll make a point of drinking our remaining couple of bottles sooner than later.
2008 Russian Jack Sauvignon Blanc, Martinborough, New Zealand: Here's a new one for me, a very classic New Zealand tropical citrus basket that's bright and brisk. Quite forward but has the acid to back it up.
2008 Emeritus Pinot Noir, Hallberg Ranch, Russian River, California If I'm not mistaken I've had this wine at an offline, I believe Marc D brought it. It's quite stunning, both very rich and very chiseled--not words one usually thinks of in the same sentence, but the richness seemed more from concentration than oak and ripeness, though at 14.3% I could be fooled. A restaurant-only wine that I only got a distributor's quick taste of late the same day it had been opened.
