1983 Randy Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Dark in color with a very small orange rim. The complex nose is characterized by tar, eucalyptus, blood, sweet red fruits, dates, honey, quails, green tea, seaweed and sea salt. Loads of fresh, fruity, "Rhone-like" tannins, still youthful, showing nice lenght. What a success in this mediocre vintage in California! - 18/20 in my rating system. I admire Randy Dunn's wines made in the 80ies and 90ies.
Cheers,
Rainer
