WTN: Jean-Baptiste Riesling Kabinett 2005

by Bruce Hayes » Tue Mar 15, 2011 6:41 pm

Rheinhessen
Gunderloch

Very rich and bright yellow, with green tints, in the glass.

Strong petrol-chemical nose at first, subsiding somewhat to reveal honey and apple.

Medium weight, honeyed, crisp green apple, petrol, mouthwatering, rich, refreshing, good acidity.

Green apple on the very mouthwatering finish.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).

A very enjoyable wine, as usual.

One of the most consistently fine wines in all of Germany.
