WTN: Goats Do Roam White 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Mar 13, 2011 7:27 pm

WO Western Cape
Fairview/Charles Back

A blend of Viognier (54 per cent), Grenache Blanc (40) Roussanne

Bright yellow in the glass.

Honey, spicy, citrus and very fresh on the nose.

Bursting with citrus fruits, orange, lemon, ruby grapefruit, apple, bitter citrus rind, honey, medium weight, good tangy acidity, refreshing, rich and floral.

Bitter citrus rind and peppery on the mouthwatering finish.

Delicious and gives me hope that summer isn't far off!!

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $12.95 (Canadian) and a great QPR.

Had the 2007 of this just last week. Showing some age, but charming and complex. Another Goats do Roam bargain.

Have always been a big fan of the entire "Goats" series of wines, from the regular red and white Goats do Roam to the "higher end" Goats do Roam in Villages. I do, however, think the gimmicky name and cheesy packaging turns off some people. The good news: more for me!!
