The Ancient Persians even Alexander the Great made it to the Indus River so the “surrounding region” is no “ stranger to the vine”. Give them time, they will figure it out.

I once had the misfortune to be in close proximity to a corked Merlot from India.

I've had the misfortune of trying a corked Sula red (can't remember the grape) and a non-corked one, and still don't know which was the more offensive wine.
