WTN: 2007 Fidelity Red Wine

by Drew Hall » Sat Mar 05, 2011 8:57 am

Crazy Creek Estate, Alexander Valley.
81% Merlot - 19% Cabernet Franc
This, by far, is the best QPR red that I've ever experienced. Flavors of dark bing cherry, raspberry, red and dark berry with hints of dark chocolate cherry cordial and earth. Not a fruit bomb, but a well balanced wine that highlights the purity of the fruit with a persistant finish, that shows a little heat upon first opening but disappears with time in the glass. The nice thing about this wine is it continues to gain weight and richness over days left in the bottle. I drank this wine several times over a three day period and the wine sings better each day with no sign of degradation. The winemaker is Nick Goldschmidt.
14.3% Alc/vol. $12

Sounds like you found a gem, Drew, thanks for the heads up.
