wine after a fashion?

by JuliaB » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:39 am

I have neen invited to a wine tasting where Salvatore Ferragamo will be presenting his wines. I am only familiar with the Ferragamo name associated with high fashion shoes and handbags. Does anyone have any experience with Ferragamo wines?
TIA,
JB

I haven't had it but I've heard good things about the Il Borro Toscana IGT. Its probably worth a try at the tasting!

When Vince Ferragamo was a quarterback in the NFL one of my co-workers said "I like his shoes."

And now he (Vince not Salvatore) has a foundation to raise funds for Special Olympics and other causes:

And guess what--he has a wine label too:

Ferragamo currently owns Touchdown Real Estate in southern California-and is about to launch a private label company, Ferragamo-Migneco Vineyards, featuring fine quality domestic and imported wines. He is also the chairman of the Vince Ferragamo Foundation a charitable organization that focuses on raising donations for children's organizations such as the Special Olympics, the Speech and Language Development Center and the Ronald McDonald House. Thanks for the info. Tom and JC. I decided to bag it. It really didn't work out in my schedule that day, and it was billed as an invitaion only "exclusive" tasting. To my mind that translates to: not a lot of people will be there, and those that do will be expected to buy. Other than Tom's reco. I have seen ..nothing..zip..nada about these wines on the internet! Now if he'd throw in a handbag or shoes with every purchase, that would be different!

Cheers!
