WTN: Norman Hardie County Chardonnay 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Feb 27, 2011 10:23 am

Prince Edward County (Ontario)

Light yellow in the glass.

Strong sulphur on the nose, which blew off, to be replaced by toast, smoke and sweet oak.

Medium weight, crisp, green apple, lemon, lean structure, heavy toast, good acididty, clean, fairly big, smoky, charred notes.

Clean, mouthwatering with lots lo toast on the finish.

I found the toast/charred notes to be a bit wearing after a while but, apart from that, this was rather enjoyable.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $35 (Canadian) at the winery.
