1990 Chateau Rausan Segla (Margaux, Bordeaux)

Certainly a product of a hot year. This is soft, fruit forward, a little pruned, and a little flabby. Not a lot of structure so I'll guess this will be on the shorter side of its drinking window. Warm with nice round fruit. Sweet in the core, a little tar, some fine tannins, some herb. Not bad, but not great.

This sounds like it had seen better days.

I'd say so. The cork was perfect, as was the label. It was my first of three. So it could have been an advanced bottle, but I have no reason to think so. I guess I'll drink them faster than I was planning.
