On Friday 2/18, CSW put together a last minute tasting of Jean-Francois Ganevat's wines from his organic estate in the Jura. The tasting was two whites and two reds. I tasted the two whites:
Ganevat 2008 Cotes du Jura Savagnin Ouille Chalasses Marn - topped-up wine that doesn't have the oxidative and nutty elements of the region's traditional white wines, apple on the nose, nice mouthfeel, well balanced with good acidity, very nice wine ($49.99)
Ganevat 2005 Cotes du Jura Savagnin Cuvee Prestige - traditional Jura white with oxidative and nutty elements, very bracing and intense wine, difficult to appreciate its full potential without experiencing it throughout an evening with food ($56.99)
