WTN: Flawed Old Hill & Serious Moulin-a-Vent

1995 Ravenswood Zinfandel Old Hill
Dominated by the reek of nail polish remover. I thought I detected the tiniest bit of fruit, so I tried a sip, and was overwhelmed by a level of teeth rattling acid that would make a German Riesling cringe. Down the drain it went. I hope it didn't damage the pipes.

2009 Louis Jadot Moulin-à-Vent Château des Jacques
The best village Burg I have had in a long while. This is a big, coiled, structured Beaujolais whose time has not come today. Those looking for pretty fruit and a fun, summer wine should look elsewhere. This is serious stuff in composition and demeanor. time...Time...TIME...TIME...TIME!

That is my main reservation about Jadot BoJo which I have tasted. Good wines, serious wines, but not what I am looking for from my Beaujolais fix. I've also detected more wood that I like though it probably integrates with age.

Wood is not a problem for this cuvee, and as for its lack of Beaujolais-ness, I have enough other wine that I can wait! I'm not as a big a fan of the special cuvees from Jadot for the reason of: too much wood.
