1996 Egly-Ouriet Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé (France, Champagne, Ambonnay, Champagne)
This wine continues to drink on through its maturity plateau, now tipping downward. There's plety of toast and nuts to go along with a more subtle citrus and apple fruit. Once the wine gets a bit of air it takes on a more baked apple and sherry profile. Very enjoyable wine but drink up.

2008 Pali Wine Co. Pinot Noir Huntington (USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County)
Sweet fruit is the focus of this wine, with some level of structure, but mostly just a sunshine face of ripe (though not overripe) fruit. Easy to drink.

Glad to hear the Egly at least drank well - I've heard some stories about a lot of their 96s being badly oxidised.
