WTN: 2009 Château de Quinçay Sélection Tradition Sauvignon

Picked up this newly released (last autumn) Loire Sauvignon at Vintages for $13.95.

12.9% alc./vol. Pale, clear straw colour. Gooseberry and tropical fruit nuances on the nose; no "green" aromas per se. Extremely tense, tart entry; very crisp, and almost sour, on the attack. Palate-cleansing, perfectly dry, with flavour replays following from the nose. Brisk, tart, warm (essentially 13% alc.) texture, with a surprisingly short finish.

Very pleasant as an apéritif, but it will work equally well with pan-fried fish fillets and some homemade sauerkraut :)
