WTN: 2009 Domaine Rimbert St Chinian "Le Travers de Marceau"

This was a deliciously strange mixture of Carrignan (40%) Syrah (40%) and Cinsault (20%). Kevin went out to the patio and pulled off a sprig of rosemary. Yep...this wine is strongly redolent of rosemary. Very lean and tart cherry fruit...along with the rosemary a distinctive eucalyptus????? character. Good acidity. Medium body.

Very interesting...maybe, though, a little tiring to drink without some food complementing the herbal goodness!

Oops. Robin: Can you move this to "the Southern Tier" I missed the fact that you have a focus this month on mediterranean wines!
