NYTimes: Teroldego Goes Mainstream

Good grief...Teroldego goes mainstream. EricAsimov has an interesting, nicely done, if way too short, article on Teroldego in today's NYTimes:
NYTimes:AsimovOnTeroldego

The article features ElisabettaForadori's efforts to bring quality to the grape. Like Eric, I also prefer her regular Teroldego to her spiffied-up Granato version.
Unlike Eric, I've followed JimClendenan's efforts w/ Teroldego from the very start...and it's a very nice wine.
Teroldego (and Schiopettino and Refosco and PicolitNeri and Tazzalenghe and Ruche and Brachetto and Freisa and Marzemino) should be planted all over California. They all make mighty fine & interesting wines.

nice article, very well done.
I think it's time to end the absence of Teroldego in my life.

Say whot, Dale?? Never had Teroldego??? Fur shame.

The basic Foradori, in the low $20's, is the best one to start out with. It has a very interesting fragrance of berries/licorice/slight pungent/tarry
and some earthiness that speak of a mountain wine. A bit rustic & tannic on the palate and goes w/ hearty food. The $60 Granato
has a bit more polish, some Fr.oak...bit more international in style.
