WTN: Wagner-Stempel Riesling

Notes from a (wine) business lunch at Cafe Ysabel so naturally we had a drink as well. Just one bottle, though.

Wagner-Stempel Siefersheimer Riesling Vom Porphyr Trocken QbA 2007 - From Rheinhessen. Rather advanced color.Yellow with a tinge of green. Hint of petrol on the nose. Bright and steely.Good fruit - green apple and a little grapey at the finish. Medium-bodied and generally dry although the fruit does come through. Multi-dimensional and although it has a slightly jagged feel to it, the balance is quite good. Spicy finish. Very good.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
