Blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes. 12.5% abv. Louis/Dressner Selections.
Sells for about $20-$25 a bottle. Grape grower and winemaker is a young woman, Arianna Occhipinti.
Dark, opaque, deep purple color. Very black-toned fruit--perhaps closer to dark plumskins than blackberries or dark cherries. The wine also displays a pleasing herbal nuance suggestive of a Provencal garni bouquet. Somewhat tannic which makes it versatile with red meat dishes as well as lasagna or eggplant dishes. Medium- to full-bodied with a long finish. I think this would be popular at a party although I haven't tested that theory yet.
I suggest decanting for 30-60 minutes before serving.
Looking at other reviews I see some describe it as a light wine and with red berry flavors so it may be something of a chameleon as I was finding black-toned fruits and medium to full body.
