JJ Prum - higher pradikats

by Andrew Burge » Mon Jan 17, 2011 5:19 pm

Hi everyone, I have a question for the German fans about JJ Prum. While I've been accumulating their wines from Kabinett to Goldkapsel for a little while, not a lot of information seems to be around about any higher pradikat releases. When have they released wines at Beerenauslese level or higher?

The only new release I have seen in Australia in recent years is the 2006 Bernkasteler Badstube Beerenauslese, which wont sell, as locally more than $A500 per half is the asking price.

Cheers

Andrew

Prum has regularly released upper pradikat wines. Unfortunately they mostly do so through the VDP auction process, resulting in the kinds of prices you see there.

Thanks David, that explains the lack of publicity and the prices!

You can see what is listed on the www.dvw.com website, for prices and availability. That's Dee Vine Wines in San Francisco, the best source for German wines in the USA that I know of....

Auction wines perhaps. Other wines - not so much.
