I added this 2007 Gallo Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon to a case purchase as an afterthought as it was really cheap too. I opened it tonight with wild rabbbit and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. With %13.1 abv and a very dark/black color, the flavors were more Napa than Sonoma in my opinion with lots of mild cassis and plum and no sweet cherry I associate more with Sonoma Co. I could see having a case or two around for the next couple of years as a go-to red. There was enough tannins evident on the finish that this wine will last at least for 2-3 years but is very enjoyably right now.

I still remember the 1997 Gallo Sonoma

. Went through 5 cases and wished I'd bought more. Thanks for the heads up on the 2007.

Drew,
I don't know how many cases I went through, but the 1978 Gallo North Coast cabernet was as good a cabernet as any I know of, I must have had at least 5 cases of it, and at under $50 per case!
