Yesterday, a rep friend introduced me to the Cava Reserve L`Hereu Reserve Brut from Raventos i Blanc. Great Champagne-looking package, quite delicious.
Noel is a fan of all-things Cava, get the Stockbroker to bring this in! I quote from cellar-tracker...>

A blend of 60% Macabeu, 20% Parellada, and 20% Xarel-lo. Raventos i blanc owns 90 acres of estate owned vineyards located near the town of San Sadurni de Anoia and Raventós i Blanc’s vineyards are the only fully government certified sustainable winery in Catalunya. The soil consist of high proportions of chalk, with clayey-loamy areas, and gravelly subsoil. The fruit is hand harvested and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and produced in the “method traditionnelle” style (the same way Champagne is made). All Reserva Cava must spend at least 18 months on the lees but L’Hereu spends 24 to 28 months aging on the lees before disgorgement.

This Cava has now appeared on the shelf, around $27 which certainly is not cheap. But at the same time it is of very high quality so I suggest looking around for it (wink). No connection.
