2004 Weingut Spreitzer Oestricher Lenchen Riesling Kabinett
Well this wine has certainly come around a bit. It was rather disjointed and oversweet back in early 2005, but time has done it significant favors, as the sweetness has abated a bit, and bright, focused citrus fruit has come to the fore along with a bracing, mineral at the finish. It's still quite rich (note to self - the Spreitzer brothers are much more successful with their kabinett halbtrocken wines which are not big spatlese!), but so much more drinkable than it was on release. There's still plenty of fruit, sweetness, extract and mineral to age for a while longer, so I'll bury my last bottle until 2020 or so just to see what happens.
