This wine is the latest project of Gus Anderson and I believe the first vintage may have been 2002 or 2003. Rumor said that it was the best barrels of their Reserve Cab. from Conn Valley but I do not believe that. This is a completely separate project I think. In any event, my first bottle from a case recently recieved was very interesting. Color was very black and the nose was an interesting mix of cassis, herb, expresso and and ester-ish/solvent-like nose but not off-putting . The palate followed the nose with some slightly astringent tannins on the finish. The depth of fruit was equal to but did not exceed the other components. I'll see what tomorrow brings to the other half of this bottle, preserved by the Rabbit vaccumn pump procedure which is a new present to me and I'll see how well that works too. My guess right now is that this wine needs 5-7 more years to settle down and intergrate. Lots of sediment in the bottle. If it does settle down and integrate nicely, $42 will seem like a real deal.
