WTN: (unintentional) Age hath withered...

South Australia, Stonehaven Riesling 2005 12.5% alcohol, screwcap
$9.99 at BevMo a year ago.

I don't remember buying this on purpose, but I must have had some wild idea. Whatever it was, I was wrong.
An unpleasant metallic taste, that got more unpleasant and stronger as the wine warmed. There was a taste of kerosene under the metallic, not very pleasant either. I use "kerosene" as different from the somewhat sweeter petrol taste I've found in other Rieslings. Some acid, a hint of grapefruit, but really no redeeming social virtues.

I poured out about half a glass and I think I'll toss the bottle. Chalk it up to experience.

Thank goodness it was under $10!
