WTN: 2009 Johann Geil Bechtheimer Muskateller trocken

Brilliant match with grilled lemon chicken. The way to food and wine came together on the palate almost made me forget that I can barely smell anything right now. It is a bit steely for those unaccustomed to truly dry German wine, but the lemony, herbal and mint characteristics (and that's just what I got!) and absolute electric cut are a steal in a wine that costs $13.

Thanks for the note. I love me some Muskateller.

In an attempt to alleviate that aspect, I know that Meßmer uses a little battonage on a small proportion of his Muskateller. I thought that was interesting.

Very nice. Geil has been making some lovely wines and seriously good values lately.
