2009 Weegmüller Weißer Burgunder Trocken -Pfalz, Germany 12,0%

This is much more crystalline and golden than last night’s Müller-Catoir. Sleeker, more shimmering, almost Silvaner (or even Riesling-like) in its tone, but without the mineral or the intensity. Still, it's good.

2009 Weingut Andres Muskateller Spätlese 'Einzigartig' -Pfalz, Germany 11,0%

I bought this completely on a whim and really even then only to switch it up vis a vis Müller-Catoir Muskateller that we all know and love. This one is good too, though in a bit sweeter wrap. Phisalis, potpourri, rose-water and Litchi with sugar behind it (which, maybe oddly, makes it diverge from Gewürztraminer more dramatically. Hmmm.)

Cheers,
Bill
