I opened a couple of bottles of 2009 La Biancara IGT Veneto Sassaia with Christmas dinner and they were extremely delicious.
No disrespect to my family's cooking but the wine was the tastiest thing on the table. And even better, there was no dish in our Hodgepodge Assortment that could even muster an attempt to clash with this wine.
All the body I could want, plus the minerals and the tang. It was hard for me to stop taking re-pours, but I was driving.
