Six harvests in three years. I don't know how he does it

Just "skyped" with my son in Cairo. He's taking a short stay there before heading to South Africa to work the grape harvest. He's done three harvests locally and this will be his third in the Southern Hemisphere. So it's been: Napa, New Zealand, Napa, Australia, Sonoma, South Africa. Whew. One harvest would kill me let alone six. Oh yeah, he's younger than me. LOL

He's thinking about trying for something in Italy or somewhere else in Europe next. Maybe. I think he may get tired living out of a backpack before then. We'll see.

This past fall he made his own wine, a Cab rosé, and it turned out pretty good.

Too bad he majored in psycology at UC Davis instead of winemaking, huh? You try to tell 'em ...

The place in S. Africa is an organic winery called Bon Cap. It'll be quite an adventure!

What a cool life he's having! A friend of ours, his son is heading around the globe teaching English as a second language. In the five years I've known of the kid, he's been in Vietnam, Thailand, South Africa and now Brazil. He was a journalism major.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
