2001 Château Giscours (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux)
Really nice, well integrated with solid full bodied firm fruit, meat, a black streak in the middle, some burnt oak and some juicy but acidic tannins. Long finish is a bit tannic, indicating that this wine will hold on for quite a while. A light bodied perfume on top with some sweet high toned fruit shows its modern side. Overall straddles the modern/classic line. Not extremely complex, but has enough going on to keep it interesting. Wish I had bought more on release, it was a bargain relative to today's prices. Drinking well now and just starting to mellow. Looking forward to drinking my remaining bottles over the next 10-15 years.
