Were these 2 Napa Cabs. a good deal?

by Jim Grow » Sun Nov 28, 2010 6:04 pm

I was up in Ft. Wayne for the holiday and bought a couple of Napa Cabernet that seemed like a good price but I have no previous exposure to the wines. I like big Napa Cabs. (eg. Andersons Conn Valley Vineyard, Robert Craig) and these were said to be in that style. The wines are 2004 Mt. Veeder Reserve Red a bordeaux blend for $48, and 2006 Chimney Rock Cabernet for $51. Any thoughts on what to expect from these wines, when to drink, buy more at those prices?

Sorry for the late response. These are okay prices and Wine-searcher would show that there are both easily sourceable for both about and below this price
