Paired this beauty with Bucatini all'Amatriciana, made with pancetta and homemade tomato sauce, last night. This wine was a very nice surprise, not having it before. Intense red berry profile laced with herbs and tar. Rustic with chewy tannins that smoothed out over several hours. A very satisfying wine with a persistant finish that paired very well with the dish. I think a few more years in the cellar are needed with this one. Purchased at the Italian grocery at $20 which is probably a little high. 14% Alc/vol.
