2009 Daniel Vollenweider 'Wolfer Goldgrube' Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel (AP#0610)

Incredibly complex nose of white blossoms, grapefruit, wet rock, tangerine, orange and super-ripe pear. Thick on the palate but light on its feet and incredibly long on the clean, salty, fresh finish. Only old, non-grafted vines from a magnificient terroir can provide this level of quality given a perfect vintage and a great producer. Awesome! I feel overwhelmed by this . Did I ever taste something better from Germany? - Yes, the very best Egon Müller wines can compete against this, but that's about it. I cannot remember any J.J.Prüm or Grünhaus or Robert Weil that would outperform this. - Thank you, Daniel! My personel rating: 19/20.

Given the fact that this wine benefits a lot from airing I would recommend to taste it several times over 2-3 (or more) days.
