Rose Water ..

2007 Henrik Möbitz Gewürztraminer 'Koepfle' (Freiburg/Germany)

Very pale yellow. In the nose there is scent of fresh air after rain, of roses, almond blossoms and of some noble 'green-tea-like' bitterness. Incredibly clean and fresh thanks to the fact that the bottle is wearing a screw cap - not a cork. Exciting yellow fruit on the palate, embedded in nice florality, finishing dry on decent 'green-tea-like' bitterness. Very nice interpretation of this grape variety. Made by a young, ambitious, intellectual producer whose newsletters are among the very best publications about wine that I know. My personel rating: 17/20.

Cheers,
Rainer

Rainer,
If you run into Henrik, give him my regards. He did a post-doc here a few years back. I got to try his Spatburgunder, but was not aware he was trying his hand at GW.

Can you provide his newsletter info (e.g. URL)?

Thanks!
Regards,
Bernard Roth

Bernard,
I have emailed your regards to Henrik. Sometimes we meet at trade tastings. His newsletters are available in German only. Here is the latest one I've got > http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6677511/Newslet ... Herbst.pdf
I hope above link works for you. If you like I can send you some of the older newsletters from Henrik as PDF attachments.

Best regards,
Rainer
