Henschke Keyneton Estate Euphonium Barossa Australia 2001. 72% Shiraz, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% merlot. $15 a glass at Endless Vines. Deep red color, deep hue, lovely aroma of red fruits and spice with bits of smoke and chocolate, good fruit tastes with spice and smoke notes, full mouth feel, light tannins, light acidity, good balance, long single note finish, mostly on the berry side with an overlay of smoke. Some vanillin, and a bit of heat, but neither overwhelming or unpleasant. 3*.
Quite a pleasant way to relax a bit from learning to use a compressed air nailing gun in quite an exposed position -- you would think a fear of heights would go away after over 60 years of climbing, flying and banging around in some pretty exposed positions. A bit of 14% alcohol wine always relaxes me and makes me realize how tense that fear makes me.
