The 2009 vintage

by Jenise » Tue Nov 16, 2010 6:34 pm

I'm not a vintage chaser and often prefer less popular vintages, at least as compared to the ones popularized in America for being "the greatest", and I haven't been reading any of the wine mags of late. But I'm getting the impression that 09 is one of those vintages that's going to unite everyone under more or less the same umbrella. In the Bordeaux, Beaujulais and the Southern Rhone, at any rate, the wines seem to be stellar examples of classic substance and style somewhat across the board. Do I understand correctly, and if so for which other wine areas is this also true?
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Germany is excellent. The Loire is very fine. Burgundy as well supposedly (has even gotten too rich for me now). The Austrian wines I tried in June were quite fine.

The list goes on and on.
