WTN: 2009 Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun) Côte de Brouilly

2009 Domaine des Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun) Côte de Brouilly - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Côte de Brouilly (11/11/2010)
Just popped my first '09 Bojo and all I can say is I'm so glad I bought a 6-pack of this. Great f**k'n sh*t! Really pure, tart, somewhat sappy fruit, even elegent. This is going down way to easy. If this is any indication of the rest of the Brun line-up, let alone my other favs, I going to be real happy with my cases. This is the kind of wine I could drink everyday. I'm certain once the baby fat sheds, there's gonna be a heft of terrior inside. This is better than any Brun Brouilly I've ever had, though I'm a bigger fan of the Morgon. Although there's a bit of Pinotness already, I can't wait for it to emerge.
Regards,
Gregg

Oh boy, you made my mouth water. Was there any place in France where 09 wasn't pretty close to perfect?

I'm going to try the Morgon and L'Ancien VV this weekend. MAV is on the way, but I hear it's gushy right now. I suspect, I won't even try the Lapiere until spring based on what I've read. Foillard is so good all the time, I'm sure I won't be able to resist. Only managed 3 btls of Thevenet, but Burgaud is well represented. And I haven't even bought any Vissoux yet.

The MAV is really, really primary. I had a bottle last week; came across very grapey and awkward initially (almost like a barrel sample), but after 2-3 hrs in a decanter it pulled itself together nicely. I would not touch that wine for some time.

Really liked the Cote de Brouilly when I tasted it a couple of weeks ago in NY. Your note pretty much sums it up; I'd have bought a bit if there weren't so many other great choices available. Vissoux, btw, is freaking AMAZING.

Trip-G, any idea how the 08 of this is?? I guess I could open mine and find out, but just wonder if you could compare to this lovely sounding 09??

Just a guess, but perhaps 'less round and ripe'?
