Labeled as 14.5% alcohol and claims to be Old World style. I paid about $33.
Deep purple color; purple-red rim. Attractive nose of dark berries and savory herbs. Slightly chewy texture. Nice balance of fruit and heft. Avoids jamminess.
The 2006 version (previous vintage) merited a review in American Wine Society's "The Wine Journal" that spoke of gorgeous dark fruit with tobacco, cigar box and pretty oak spices.
I paired this with a thin-crust Greek pizza.
