WTN: 1996 Richie Creek Cab.

This wine has been a long time in coming around but it is nearly there now. Black/purple in color with a nose of leathery cherries, the palate is of mostly sweet cherries and a bit of sour cherries. The tannins are mostly resolved, at least compared to many years ago but will develope and hold for many years to come. I hope I have more in my off-site storage
but that is a long time to store a wine, especially a Cal. red, before it is enjoyable to drink. I'll not buy more of this previously tannic monster.

I'm surprised, Pete Minor's cabs haven't usually taken that long a time to come around. Ritchie Creek if I remember correctly was a bargain in those days. 97 cabs got all the press but the 96s are in most cases are turning out to be the superior wines.
