WTN: Chateau Bonnet 2008

by Bruce Hayes » Mon Nov 01, 2010 6:52 pm

Andre Lurton
Entre-Deux-Mers

A blend of Sauvignon Blanc (50 per cent), Semillon (40) and Muscadelle (10).

Light yellow in the glass.

Apple, spicy on the nose.

Medium weight, apple, crisp, rich, good acidity, spicy, lightly honeyed, juicy.

Mouthwatering apple on the finish.

Screwcap closure.

Have enjoyed this wine dozens of times over the years and have always found it to be amazing.

Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian) and a classic QPR at that.

Agreed, but I'm seeing it (or a first cousin) with a Tour de Bonnet label. Any idea what that is all about? Lurton(s) seem to know what they are doing.
