I plan on going to the Stewart/Colbert rally on the National Mall tomorrow, Saturday. I've also got some minor plumbing to take care of and leaves to rake. I think on Sunday I'll open a bottle of Incognito Rouge from Michael~David Winery in Lodi. The mask on the label seems seasonally appropriate.

Lookin' good so far. If the Yankees can't win, the next best thing would be a former NY team.

Going to Durham with a friend to see "Billy Elliott" at Durham Performing Arts Center. Sunday we have elections for church vestry and delegates to a convention. Sunday afternoon watch NFL with popcorn or other snack. Will finish a Scott Harvey Barbera, Amador County, and probably open a Rhone rose' to go with a pork main dish.

Last night was Pepiere Briords (which was a bit denser and less tingly expressive than previous bottles, but of course we didn't give it much time to unwind). Tonight Brun Cote de Brouilly and tomorrow Coudert Tardive.

Will be relaxing on a friend's patio on Sunday - should be mid 50s (with blankets and firepit). Thinking of bringing the 2008 Owen Roe Sinister Hand (GSM), to try to please both the Cali Zin drinkers and Francophiles alike. I've been looking forward to trying this one for awhile.

If the sense of smell comes back (I think it is working on it) then something really good on Sunday! If not then tap water. :(

A 2005 Hugel Riesling is chilling as I type. I think we will have it with a Munster cheese and water crackers. Par-tay!

Last night - 2008 Bergstrom Cumberland Reserve Pinot Noir with crusty baguette, cheese spread (Gruyere, local organic cheddar, Pont L'Eveque, Garrotxa, Parmegiano Reggiano, & Cabrales), local Jonagold apples, kalamata olives and homemade pickles!

Wife's going out tonight to a family birthday party, so I'm on my own. I'm thinking maybe a nice old claret, but will do my usual - go into the cellar and root about and probably come out with something totally different than I had in mind going in.

Fri: 1990 Fieldstone Alex Vly Petite Sirah. Fruit gone; tons of tannins; not so good.
Tonight: I don't like to plan ahead.

Damn! Is Baseball still going on? and THE GIANTS ARE WINNING THE WORLD SERIES? I've been waiting for that since Will Clark and Kevin Mitchell played the A's in 1989. If the Twins don't win, let it be the Giants.

Cheers,
Bill
