WTN: Goats do Roam 2008

Fairview Trust
Western Cape

A blend of Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Carignan.

Dark cherry red in the glass.

Charred-burned nose.

Medium weight, smoky, brett (antispetic-band aid), spicy, tangy, cherry, charred, high acidity,.

Currants, cherry, roasted notes on the long finish.

I have been driking this wine for several years now and I have noticed quite a bit of variation from vintage to vintage, some I liked more than others. This example was one I didn't like at all due to the high acidity and the overpowering burned notes.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $12.95 (Canadian).
