WTN: Mezzomondo Negroamaro Salento 2009

by Bruce Hayes » Mon Oct 18, 2010 9:10 am

Puglia

Dark cherry red in the glass.

Jammy sweet fruit and floral notes on the nose.

Light to medium bodied, currants, raspberry, strawberry, floral, fleshy, high acidity, a light bitter streak, quite rich fruit with a sort of wildness to it, drying toward the end.

Drying, high acidty and mouthwatering on the finish.

Purchased at $7.95 (Canadian) and a steal at the price.

By coincidence, I opened a bottle of this last night. Great value, as always... my wine to bring home if my wife comments on how much I have been spending on wine ("look, hon, just $8!).
