Casa Dea Estates Winery
Prince Edward County (Ontario)

A 50-50 blend of Gamay and Zweigelt.

Dark cherry red in the glass.

Nothing much on the nose.

Medium weight, very tangy, smooth in the mouth, cramberry, raspberry, cherry, rich and fleshy, tobacco, smoky, roasted, earthy.

A drying finish.

The wine started out quite well, very gulpable, and then became a bit dryer and tangier with time, losing some of the early fleshy fruit.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $11.95 (Canadian).
