WTN: Mind-blowing '96 Bollinger

1996 Bollinger Champagne La Grande Année
One of the top wines I have had in 2010. This showed citrusy top notes allied to toasty base notes, and was mouthfilling yet simultaneously refreshing. This is nearly perfect right now, and while it seems to hold some ability to change/improve I see no reason to wait. Outstanding Champagne!!

I've still got a couple of bottles left of the 90 & 85 Grande Annee that are drinking beautifully. Had a 96 last Xmas time seemed to be able to go for the long haul if desired. In a nutshell, I don't consider myself a Champagne expert but it appears Grand Annee is long lived.

Laura and I had our last bottle of the '90 Grand Annee a few months ago. It was also an amazing wine. Still holding more '96 as well as '95 (a somewhat overlooked, but delicious wine) and the '90 and '96 RD. Can't have too much Bollinger.
