This was OK, becoming better with air. Quite a wallop of pretty nice, primary juicy dark Syrah fruit...the alcohol (14.7% but seemed higher) shows through. Oak seems finely judged, though. Towards the end of the evening a very attractive Shiraz-ish black pepper note begins to dominate, which I found quite nice. 85 points.
