Perrin & Fils 2007 Cotes du Rhone Villages - This 50/50 blend of Syrah and Grenache rather closely matched the back label descriptions of blackcurrants, blackberries, licorice and spices. I found the Grenache influence a bit heavy on the first evening but it receded a bit on the second to provide a smoother wine. On both evenings it worked well with food - grilled NY strip on the first and meatloaf on the second. A decent wine for $10 at Costco.
