Quite dark purple color. Reticent nose. Very Old World flavors, but plenty of fruit. Roasted black and red fruit with high toned acidity and refreshing cranberry notes combining with black and red plum and plenty of berries. Reminded me a bit of a higher toned zinfandel without the too typical jamminess or alcohol. Palate cleansing bitter note on the finish which I liked. A very nice quaffer. 88/89 points. Would purchase-especially at the projected price point of less than $20. There is enough going on here.
