Not much of a Cabernet drinker, but cracked this last night:
1. Ridge Cabernet SantaCryzMtns (86% Cabernet/10% Merlot/4% PetiteVerdot; 12.8%; Bttld:5/95; JimsomareRanch; Drk: 4/05-4/07: PD) 1993: Very dark color w/ slight bricking; somewhat herbal/blackcurranty/Cab bit earthy/dusty/SCM slight Bdx-like strong smoky/pungent/licorice bit oaked/pencilly complex lovely Cab nose; tart some tannic/metallic bit earthy/dusty/SCM very smoky/pungent/licorice some charred/pencilly/oak bit herbal/Bdx-like rather blackcurranty/Cab classic earthy/dusty/SCM Cab complex flavor; very long sligt tannic/hard rather earthy/dusty/SCM Cab slight menthol rather smoky/pungent/licorice some pencilly/charred/oak finish; a classic earthy/dusty/SCM Cab that's in a very good place right now and could use another few yrs; a lovely MBJr.

A wee BP:
1. I presume the designation "Cabernet" means both CabernetSauvg and CabernetFranc. As I examined the label, I noted the 12.8%. Rather anemic by today's standards, but the wine showed no green or underripe character at all.
