I picked this up for $14.95 at Vintages during one of my usual searches for wines that march to a different drummer.
13% alc./vol. High-quality, solid natural cork closure. Clear, viscous yellow straw appearance. Wonderful Muscat nose comprising rosewater, guava and a total symphony of tropical fruits, with hints of lavender. Big, orange-rind /-pith comes to the fore immediately upon tasting. Quite a mouthful of a wine, it's pleasantly crisp and bright, and sweet on the mid-palate. Plenty of alcohol too - it's 13% but actually punches above its weight in every respect.
I think this is too intense to serve at table. It seems to do well all on its own, as a sipping wine.
Other Muscat-type table wines from Hungary - mainly thinking of the somewhat drier, and gentler, Dunavár Muscat - do work better as food wines. Still, this is very enjoyable in its own right, and can best be paired where you would pair a late-harvest type of wine.
