I remember, a while back here, saying that I find a 100% TN quite a mouthful and that it is always best blended. Well forumites, that was before I tried a Rosé from this varietal! This pinkie was quite deeeee-licious.
WTN: `09 Touriga Nacional Quinta da Alorna Vinho Rosé, Tejo Portugal.
13% alc, $18 Cdn, good natural cork, imported by Marc Vigneron of Nobilis Wines Calgary.
Deep dark pink w light red tinges, very distinct indeed. On the nose I find strawberry, violets and licorice. Initial entry thought was off-dry, no tannins (!), strawberry, cranberry. Very smooth and easy-drinking on this hot summer evening. This is one of my pinkie tips of the year, believe me I have tasted a few!
**** I understand that there is also a sparkling version!
