Eric LeVine, How about that feature :) ?

by Michael K » Fri Aug 06, 2010 1:49 pm

The article today on Maps, is it replicatible on GrapeStories :) I do that on google earth all the time to view the vineyards (did that a couple of nights ago when I opened up a Barolo,...I need to go there!!!)

It could be like Apple's Iphoto where it places a push pin on a world map that you have taken pictures in. then as you zoom, it shows the satillite views. In this case, It would show pushpins for all the wines that you own from around the world. AS you pick up out of your inventory, the map could come back up and zoom in on the winery and the actual vineyards. Then the wineries could provide you with a fee to put their link and information on as you scroll over the vineyards :) This can all be done on google maps.

Lemme know if you need help to do this :)

I had more or less the same idea when I read about it. Would love to see a custom google map of all the wineries I have drunk, and/or the vineyards when known. However, I would also prefer that Eric work on refining GrapeStories, which still is much less efficient than Cellartracker for me. Looks great, less useful.

The home page has an article about mapping the wineries on google map as a thing to do when you drink a wine. I'd give you the link but its on the home page :)

Here you guys go ... sorry, I should have cross-posted yesterday's 30 Second Wine Advisor to the forum. I had about five different deadline projects working yesterday, and things got kind of crazy over here.
